Will you put the price up on the day?

Not for the job you locked. You pay a fixed total online — not an hourly meter that climbs while people stand around. Be straight with us about items, stairs and access up front. If you add stuff or change the job later, we re-quote and you agree the new total before we do it. No doorstep haggling for “extra cash” is the deal on both sides.

What if the van is late, cancels, or doesn’t show?

Accepted Answer

Moves can go wrong — traffic, breakdowns, illness. We don’t pretend otherwise. What we do: the job sits on our desk (not a random auction win), you get live GPS when a driver is assigned, and if we can’t run the job we rearrange at no extra cost or refund in full. Customer cancellations follow clause 8 of our Terms (written cancel within 48 hours of confirmation for a full refund on standard bookings). We’ll always rather reschedule or deal with it cleanly than leave you arguing in a chat thread with no answer.

What if you send the wrong van or the wrong crew?

That’s on us to match the job. Tell us volume, heavy items and stairs when you book so we send a suitable van and crew. If we get that wrong and the job can’t be done as booked, we fix it — rebook the right setup or refund. We’re not perfect; we own the booking instead of pointing at “a driver who bid on the app”.

How do refunds actually work if something goes wrong?

Clear rules, not a fight — see clause 8 of our Terms. Standard bookings: full cash refund only if you cancel in writing within 48 hours of confirmation and payment. After that, no cash refund (we may offer 6-month credit or a reschedule). Short-notice bookings become non-refundable once a driver is assigned. If we fail to attend or can’t complete the job on our side → rearrange or full refund. You book and pay with us directly, so you’re not chasing a marketplace middleman who says “talk to the driver”.

What if something gets damaged?

We’re careful, but vans and stairs are real life — damage can happen. Tell us fragile or high-value items when you book so they’re on the job sheet. Goods-in-transit cover options apply as agreed at booking; claims need photos and notes from the day, not a vague “enhanced insurance” line with no detail. We’ll treat a fair claim seriously; we won’t pretend every chip is impossible.

How is this different from marketplace / bidding apps?

Book direct with JKE: one operator, one fixed price, one team, live GPS. No bidding war, no mystery van that won the auction, no mid-move haggling, no “driver cancelled — refund refused” ping-pong. Marketplaces can be fine for some people; if you want a named operator and a locked price, that’s us.

Do you only cover Manchester?

No. We are a Greater Manchester / UK-wide operator — we book man and van across the UK and run Europe corridors too. Same book form, same fixed-price style — not a one-city side hustle.

How much does it cost?

Accepted Answer

There is no honest one-size price. The total depends on route, items, access and date. JKE Motors is fixed-quote, not hourly. Open /book and review the live fixed quote before you pay.

How do I book and pay?

Accepted Answer

Easy online booking: postcodes, items, day, fixed total, pay by card (or bank transfer if needed). Live GPS when the driver is assigned. About a minute to quote.

Can you move sofas, furniture, pallets, Marketplace finds?

Accepted Answer

Yes. List what you’re moving and access notes (stairs, parking). We’ll price the job as booked. Wrong list in = wrong plan out — that’s the honest bit.
